Flooring quotes combine tiles, adhesive, grout and laying labour, usually per sq ft. GenuineRate checks each against market rates and looks for wastage and skirting padding.
Every line is compared with brand price lists and researched rates for your city. You get what's overpriced, what's missing, questions to ask, and a polite message to send.
Common overcharges
Too much wastage
Some wastage is normal for cuts, but much more than about 10% on simple rooms is worth questioning.
Skirting at the floor rate
Skirting is measured in running feet — check it isn't charged in sq ft at the full floor rate.
Tile size or grade changed
Size, grade and series all change the price. The quote should list them, and the boxes on site should match.
Adhesive charged, mortar used
Tile adhesive costs more than cement mortar. If the quote charges for adhesive, make sure it's actually used.
